"A Witch's Tail"

Description: "Piper, Phoebe, and Paige come to the aid of Mylie, a mermaid-turned-human, when she shows up looking for their help, after a pact she made with an evil Sea Hag begins to go drastically wrong. Meanwhile, Phoebe attempts to divorce Cole, until he shows up claiming to want her back. Paige attempts to juggle her new position as a full fledged social worker as well as being a Charmed One. Piper must protect her unborn baby, and face her fear of the water demon. Piper, Paige, and Leo struggle to convince Phoebe, now a mermaid, to come back to her life as a Charmed One, when she decides to "swim" away from her problems with Cole. Meanwhile, Piper casts a spell to stop her panic attacks, but instead of facing her fear she supresses it, endangering herself and her baby when the Sea Hag comes after her mermaid sister, Phoebe. In order to help Phoebe, Paige takes drastic measures and enlists the aid of Cole, and his newfound demonic powers."

For a season opener, this one threw a lot of different emotions at us from love, hurt, fear, and overprotectiveness. Love played an exceptionally big amount in this episode, because it was love that Mylie needed from Craig to stay human. I don't blame the dude for freaking out, I mean it's not everyday that your girlfriend tells you she's a mermaid, and you need to tell her you love her in order for her to live. The Sea Hag only gave them 30 days, and even though it was obvious that Craig loves Mylie, he has to come to it in his own time. It was sweet that in the end Craig was able to look past how she was different, and except her for who she was, the girl he loves. The producers of the show never went into why Necron wanted immortality so bad, because he's a demon so I thought they already were immortal? I guess all demons are different in there own way, but that is interesting. I found it sad that Phoebe had to resort to becoming a mermaid to get away from Cole. You can tell she still loves him, but she doesn't want to get hurt like that again. Just because Cole isn't evil anymore, anything can happen and Phoebe's heart can't handle another blow. Like Phoebe said, "I'll always love you Cole, nothing will ever change that, but we're over." I'm glad that Cole realized in the end that he had to let her go if he loves her as much as he says, and gave her the divorce she needed to fully move on. For those who think that this isn't the end, then you're right. Stay tuned! Fear played a big role in this episode, because they were once again up against something that was very similar to the demon who killed the girls' mother. I don't think Piper would have reacted as strongly if it hadn't been for the fact that she was pregnant. It's true that Piper is pregnant now, but she doesn't want her baby to lose its mother the way the sisters lost theirs. Add to that all the hormones running through Piper's body, it's a wonder her fear didn't take over her body completely. That's where the fear spell came in, and it almost cost her life in the end, if it wasn't for future baby Halliwell having the power to heal its Mommy from the womb. My favorite quote is after Baby Halliwell heals Piper she smiles and looks up at Leo and says, "Apparently, it takes after its Daddy." So sweet! Speaking of sweet, I thought it was nice that Patty came back and talked to Piper when she was drowning. First of all, what is with Patty always saving her daughters from drowning (remember Season 1 "From Fear To Eternity?) when she saved Prue from the pool? Patty helped Piper to understand that she had a greater destiny to fulfill than she did, and that her baby will grow up with a mother. No matter dead or alive, Patty will always be there for her girls, whether it's to give a helping hand by turning the pages of the "Book of Shadows" or to write something in a baby book. :) When it comes to Leo being overprotective, I don't think he has to worry about Piper and the baby getting hurt now that they know it can heal them if anything were to happen. Maybe now, Leo will be able to let his guard down, and give Piper a little bit of breathing room. "May the power of three set you free!" Keep reading and watching!

Peace, Love, and Charmed!
