"Sympathy For The Demon"

Description: "Barbas, the Demon of Fear, returns and tricks Paige into giving him Cole's powers, and plots revenge on the Halliwell sisters, by playing them against their darkest fears."

The Charmed Ones' favorite demon is back, and this time he's got a whole new batch of ways to use their greatest fears against them. Have you guessed who it is yet? That's right, it's Barbas, the Demon of Fear. Other than The Source, Barbas is the only demon that has been able to come back after the girls banished him, this many times. But this time he doesn't just have his usual power of turning people's greatest fears against them, he also has all of Cole's powers. Paige may have a strong head on her shoulders and the sometimes overpowering want to follow her instincts, but Piper and Phoebe are right. They have been doing this a lot longer than Paige has, and even though it doesn't matter on a lot of things, sometime Piper and Phoebe know what they're talking about and Paige needs to listen to them more. Another thing about Paige is that she keeps going to Leo behind her sisters' backs. To quote Piper in an earlier episode, "That's a smart thing to do as a witch, but an annoying thing to do as a sister." And since when did Paige turn into Cole's biggest ally. Paige has always been the one that hated Cole the most and was the first who didn't trust him, so why the sudden change, I don't know. It's great to see Phoebe getting out more with other guys, but I have a feeling she's still on the rebound. I mean, her and Cole are barely divorced, but I guess everybody is different, and it seems like she really likes this new guy. This episode brought out a whole batch of greatest fears from the sisters that we didn't even know about. Since when is Paige claustrophobic and Piper acracnophobic. It makes sense that Phoebe would be scared of becoming evil, but spiders? I know that Piper sometimes freaks out when she sees spiders, but she also freaks out when she sees any rodent or bug, that doesn't mean she has a phobia for all of them. I love the sisters' father Victor, but what kind of father leaves the family on their child's birthday? No wonder Piper thinks that something bad is going to happen everytime something good happens, because that's how she's always known it since she was a child. I felt bad for Cole because he got a chance to see how life would be if he had no powers and was normal, and then to get rid of Barbas they had to give the powers back for Cole. The look on Cole's face when he left the attic at the end of the episode just breaks my heart. Speaking of breaking my heart, the scene after Phoebe accidentally killed Paige and she's holding Paige in her arms sobbing, that is so heart wrenching. Piper is right, Phoebe doesn't have an evil bone in her body, so she has no reason to think so. The only reason she became Queen of the Underworld was because the demonic baby inside of her was swaying her toward the dark side. The real Phoebe that we have come to know and love wouldn't hurt a fly. "May the power of three set you free!" Keep reading and watching!

Peace, Love, and Charmed!
