"Little Monsters"

!Description:  "After vanquishing a Manticore demon, Piper, Phoebe and Paige become foster parents to its orphaned half-breed infant.  Upon Chris' plea to vanquish the child, they believe that by raising the child with love they can change its destiny.  Meanwhile, Phoebe surprises her boyfriend Jason when she responds to feelings he hasn't expressed yet, and Paige gives Darryl a superpower."

The theory of nature versus nurture is what's being argued in this very adorable episode of Charmed.  I wholeheartedly agree with Paige that it's not necessarily the family you were born into that makes a person who they are, but more how they were raised in their life.  The story of Derek and how he spent his life trying to save his son was so sweet, even though he realized he wouldn't be able to raise the baby himself.  For the fate and future of his son, Derek was able to make the ultimate sacrifice to do what's best for the baby and put himself last.  I found it a bit unnerving the fact that manticores go around breeding with humans so they could blend better with society, because there is really no telling how many there are out in the world.  It was so cute how Wyatt and the baby automatically had this connection and were instant friends who didn't want to be seperated from each other.  Them playing peek-a-boo together in the playpen was probably the cutest thing we've seen on the show thus far.  That alone would have eased my fears of the baby being evil and hurting Wyatt, because Wyatt has always in the past used his force field to protect himself so why would this time be any different.  Piper's protectiveness of being a mother really showed itself in this episode when she even said, "Stay away from my son!" The bond Piper was able to form with Derek was based solely on the love they have for their children, and Piper was through this the real hero of the day.  I found it funny how Chris wasn't even going to consider the fact that the baby was okay and was willing to vanquish it from the get go.  That dude needs to really learn how to look outside the box and take a giant chill pill!  You could also really see the concern and overprotectiveness that Leo still shows toward Piper and his son, because as soon as Chris mentioned the problem was with Piper or Wyatt, Leo instantly perked up and was on the alert.  Speaking of being alert, Phoebe really needs to be more careful with distinguishing between spoken feelings and empathic feelings from now on.  She really slipped up with Jason this time and you could really tell he had no idea what was going on.  It was nice to eventually learn that the feelings were mutual (well obviously since she channeled his feelings using empathy) and that Phoebe and Jason were okay.  You might be wondering when the big secret is going to be revealed, but you guys are just going to have to stay patient and wait and see!  I thought it was hilarious when Paige gave Darryl the power of invincibility!  At first Darryl thought it was neat and was really like having it and being the hero of the day, but then it started freaking him out when he was yanking doors off vehicles and having super strength.  I swear the stuff poor Darryl goes through because of the Charmed Ones is enough to drive anybody crazy!  "May the power of three set you free!"  Keep reading and watching!

Peace, Love, and Charmed!
